The starring character Nick Castle played the first Michael Myer, "The Shape," and Tony Moran played the twenty-one year-old "Michael Myer" and Jim Winburn, "stunt double for Michael Myer." One of the unsung heroes of "Halloween 1978" is Don Behrn, the production manager and a long time friend of Debra Hill, John Carpenter and me, Jim Winburn.
What would John Carpenter do if Dean Cundey director of photography and Ray Stella the first camera operator wasn't on the film? Well, John of course would gotten another camera crew. But Dean Cundey at that time was one of the best independent cameramen in the business, plus he had all his equipment.
